The International Conference on Education (ICE-2007) will be held in
August, 2007 at the
Faculty of Education, University of
Sindh, Elsa Kazi Campus, Hyderabad,. Hyderabad
: حيدر آباد) is
located in the
Sindh
province of
Pakistan (formerly known as Neroon Kot نيرُون ڪوٽ). Formerly the
capital of Sindh and known as the city of perfumes, it is now a regional
headquarter of the district of Hyderabad. Before the creation of
Pakistan, it was known as the Paris of India, for its roads used to be
washed with perfume every day. The regional and political boundaries
stage the city as a
district.Hyderabad is a hot and humid city in the south of the
nation and has been a staging point for literary campaign and a
birthplace of many poets. Rich with culture and tradition, the city is
the largest bangle producer in the world and serves as a transit between
the rural and the urban Sindh.
The International Conference on Education will be
the gathering place for academicians and
professionals from Education and related fields from all over the world.
The main goal of the International Conference on Education
is to provide an opportunity for academicians and professionals from
various education related fields from all over the world to come
together and learn from each other. An additional goal of the conference
is to provide a place for academicians and professionals with
cross-disciplinary interests related to education to meet and interact
with members inside and outside their own particular disciplines.
University of
Sindh, second oldest university in the country, established in 1947 has
been playing a very important role in imparting formal education and
enlightening the world.
University of Sindh has hosted a number of
National and International Conferences, Seminars and Workshops in
various fields of Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences
and Education. The University Campus has always offered an environment,
free of gender disparity, ethnic divide and sectarian bigotry.
University of Sindh has ever since its
inception held the Teacher Education in high priority, and has been
committed to educating quality teachers and other professional personnel
to help meet the staffing needs of public and private urban and rural
schools. The teacher Education programs are extended to both in-service
and pre-service needs.
The
Faculty of Education
started as the first teaching department of the University in 1951-52
achieving its FACULTY status in 1989. It has provided more than
15000 trained graduate teachers to the educational network not only in
Sindh but also in other part of Pakistan.

“Role of Medium of
Instruction and Examination Method in Learning Process”.
Conference Themes:
1. Medium of Instruction and its Impact on
Educational and Intellectual Development
2. English and Development of National
Languages in the Context of Medium of Instruction
3. English as Medium of Instruction at
Primary School Level
4. An Analysis of Examination and
Evaluation System
5. Comparison between Public and Private
Examining Bodies.
Objectives:
1. To
indicate the issues regarding medium of instruction and examination
system in the country.
2. To
bring the possible solutions and suggestions for solving the problem.
Important Information:
The interested scholars are requested
to get registered and send their abstracts on or before 30th
June 2007. The selected scholars will be informed on 20th
July 2007. The last date of submission of the papers is 05th
August 2007.

The papers accepted and read at the
conference will be published in Sindh University Journal of Education.
The lodging and boarding will be provided by the University of Sindh.
However, the University due to paucity of funds will not be in a
position to provide travel grant.
Guidelines for the scholars:
1.
Paper should
not exceed six pages.
2.
A- 4 size
paper may be used in this connection.
3.
Both hard and
soft copies of the paper may be sent.
