INTRODUCTION

Allama Ghulam Mustafa Qasmi Chair:-

This chair was established in the year 2004, in University of Sindh with financial assistance of Siddiqui Foundation .The Vice Chancellor of University of Sindh Mr. Mazharul Haq Siddique  is the patron  and Prof. Dr. Kazi Khadim Hussain former Dean Faculty of Arts is appointed  Honorary Director of the chair.
 

The chair is run by an advisory committee appointed by the Patron/ Vice Chancellor. It has sub committees also, who help the Hon: Director in day to day affairs.
 

Main objective of the chair is to promote research activities and introduce the overall religious, historical and social literature of the 20th century in which great  Allama Ghulam Mustafa Qasmi lived and taught from Madresa to University for whole of his life.
It is also conducting research on the life and works of Allama sahib and his contemporaries. The chair encourages the  students by supporting them financially to carry on their research activities .
The chair also arranges annual seminars and conferences on various topics of religion education and literature. It has so far arranged two seminars and published seven books and awarded gold medals to the deserving students of the department of sindhi and faculty of Islamic studies at the occasion of annual convocations.
 

The chair further plans to carry on research activities and its publication of books on Religion, History, Sufism, Philosophy and literature. The chair is preparing to publish an authentic biography of Allama Qasmi in sindhi, urdu and English.
